Drumadóireacht le Eamonn Cagney

Is é an príomhaidhm leis an stráitéis sin ná gaeilge taitneamhach a thabhairt do na páistí. Fuair siad seans iontach chun gaeilge a foghlaim trí mhéan ceol idirnáisiúnta. Bhain siad an taitneamh as an 7 seachtain go léir agus cheángail siad gach rud le chéile sna ceolchoirm a bhí ar súil ar 14ú Nollaig. Beidh grianghriaf agus bfhéidir fís ar fail ar an súiomh idirlíon go gairid. Bhí  Eamonn sona sásta le comhceol agus an bríomhracht a tháispeann siad ar an lá sin.
The main aim of this programme was to give the chance to learn "enjoyable Irish". They got a great chance to learn Irish through the medium of international music. They got great enjoyment from the whole 7 weeks and tied the whole thing together with the concert held in the school on December 14 th.There will be photos and maybe videos available on the website soon. Eamonn was delighted with the harmony and the liveliness shown by the children in their performance on the day.

Tríd an córas sin fuair na páistí oideachais ceol tríd na strráitéisí thíos seo a leanas

Junior and Senior Infants
Concentrated on basic hand-drum rhythms, with songs and chants to complement these beats. They were encouraged to take the lead with their own rhythm, and also  got the chance to make up their own solos!

1st, 2nd and 3rd
Performed a traditional African rhythm piece, with different groups playing different parts, and also learned a little about their own creativity with the drum, so they composed a little together! They also learned a vocal chant or 2 to complement the drumming.

4th, 5th and 6th
learned a traditional African drumming piece, and a couple of call & response drumcalls. They used their voices too in performing a traditional chant. They took solos, a facilitated improvisation process, which they started straight way in week 1.
